House of Flame and Shadow is the third installment in the Crescent City Series. This book came out on January 30, 2024. I was excited about this release because I loved the other two books. I finished the 951-page book in about a week. While that may seem fast, I was actually quite underwhelmed by the book. The book had good moments, especially the last 100 pages. However, I was not a fan of the character’s lack of development and how easy it was to kill off the antagonist. The two previous books lead up to this big moment of destruction with the antagonist, and then the actual moment falls a bit short. I did love the reunion between some of the old characters who died and those who were still alive. Overall, I rated this book a 3.75 out of 5.
