April Book Recap

In April, I read 11 books. I was not expecting to be able to finish this many books this month simply because of how busy things were with finishing up projects and setting up for the Portfolio Show. However, because I worked ahead on a lot of stuff, I was sitting pretty for most of my assignments, allowing me more time to read than I initially anticipated. I started two fantastic book series this month: Zodiac Academy and Plated Prisoner. I am enjoying these series so far and am excited to continue reading them in May. My favorite book of April, with a 4.5 rating, was Zodiac Academy: Ruthless Fae, the second book in the Zodiac Academy series.

Zodiac Academy: Ruthless Fae Review:

I give this book a 4 out of 5. I like this book, and I am really excited to see where the series goes; however, this is my first time reading a bully m/f style book; it definitely took some getting used to. I was shocked at their cruelty and unsure how I continue to feel about it; however, I hope it is a “mask,” and the 4 Heirs become more bearable over the course of the books. I really hope they get knocked down a peg or two. But overall, I liked the book, and I liked that it addressed the randomness and the oddness of the plot line, almost poking fun at itself. I also really enjoyed Tory and her sass/sarcastic nature.

My least favorite book of this month was Gild, although that is saying little because I still gave it a 3 out of 5. It just ranked lower than the other books I’ve read this month.

April was an excellent month for books. I really enjoyed all of the books I read.
